Aggravated Assault / Stabbing Arrest

On June 18, 2013 Bensalem Police arrested 45 yr. old Michael Bell, a homeless male, and charged him with aggravated assault ,weapons offenses and related charges for the assault and stabbing of a 33 yr. old male from Bensalem. On Monday June 17, 2013 at 7:10 pm the suspect was observed attempting to break into vehicles in the area on Mechanicsville Rd. The crime was interrupted by the victim. Bell then stabbed the victim in the abdomen with a large knife and fled.

On Tuesday June 18th at approximately 7:50PM an alert Bensalem Police officer was patrolling his sector when he observed a male walking in the Creekside Apartment complex. The male had similar characteristics of the suspect so the officer began approaching him but he fled and was apprehended by assisting officers at the Knights Road entrance to Creekside. The suspect was taken into custody transported to the police station and was interviewed by Detectives. He subsequently admitted to the crime. Further investigation was conducted and the weapon was recovered at another location in Bensalem.

Bell was video arraigned by Judge Benz and sent to Bucks County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail 10%

The victim still remains in the hospital and is listed in stable condition.
