Bensalem Arson Investigators are asking for the public’s help in viewing the photos and video to help identify the suspects responsible for intentionally setting a fire. On Sunday morning June 29th, 2014 at approximately 4:43 am, fire and police responded to the rear of the Lincoln Motel for a report of a structure fire. Bensalem Police arrived shortly thereafter and discovered an RV burning in the parking lot of Big Joe’s Auto Sales (2301 Lincoln Highway). While the fire department was combatting the fire, a large propane cylinder located under the RV exploded causing firefighters to retreat for their safety. The fire destroyed the RV and severely damaged four other vehicles that were parked in an adjacent lot with a potential loss of $80,000-$100,000. Investigators with the Bensalem Police and Bensalem Fire Rescue determined the fire to be an arson. Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the male and female as they were observed at the scene of the fire and were operating a vehicle 4-door sedan possible silver or tan in color. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Tom Jackson at (215) 633-3667 and/or Battalion Chief Robert Sponheimer (215) 633-3618 or sending an anonymous tip by emailing or 215-633-3660.
