Shooting Suspects Arrested
On Tuesday 12/31/13 Bensalem Police arrested 24 yr. old James Quinn 2500 Knights Rd Bensalem and 23 yr. old Joshua Lake 200 blk Devon Rd Fairless Hills and charged them with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm, possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and related offenses. They were arraigned by Judge Waltman and sent to Bucks County Prison in lieu of $500,000/ 10% cash bail.
On Tuesday 12/31/2013 at approximately 4:40 PM Bensalem Police were dispatched to Creekside Apartments 2500 Knights Rd. Bensalem for a report of shots fired. Police responded to the parking lot area of building 38 and were flagged down by several people who reported observing a male firing a gun at a vehicle that was fleeing the parking lot. Witnesses were able to direct police to the apartment that the suspected males ran towards.
Police attempted to make contact with the suspects, but they were heard locking the door and refused to answer. After about an hour and a half the suspects opened the door and were detained.
Further investigation found that James Quinn arranged to buy drugs and became upset. Allegedly Quinn fired at least one round from handgun as the dealer was driving out of the complex. Quinn is a convicted felon and should not possess a firearm.
Joshua Lake allegedly arranged the drug deal with a guy he knew from prison. He admitted that he took the gun from James Quinn and fired several rounds at the dealer’s vehicle as it was driving out of the parking lot. Lake admitted he was a convicted a felon and should not possess a firearm.
Detectives located the fleeing vehicle which had a shattered rear window with evidence of a gunshot.
Recovered in Quinn’s apartment was a .357 Magnum revolver with 5 spent shell casings.
